Not one to let heartbreaking failures hold her back, when sacked from a corporate role Sonja went on to build her own software development company that grew to be multi award winning. A company that she sold for eight figures in February 2020.

For decades Sonja has voluntarily contributed significant efforts to the technology industry. This earned her a prestigious Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2011, inducted into USA Hall of Fame for technology (2005), and in 2019 elevated to the Australian National Pearcey Hall of Fame for her lifetime contributions and achievements to Australian IT.
