Public relations is a key strategy for successful marketing in any business. We spoke with Adrian Falk, the founder of Believe Advertising & PR, and asked for his top tips for successful PR activity.
Pick up the phone
Contact press related to your brand’s story to let them know about your company and your unique selling points. Search for media that is related to your product and share your story with them. PR is about creating relationships, so don’t be afraid to reach out to relevant journalists and press.
Exert your expertise
Position yourself as an expert in your field. Write a press release about yourself, your knowledge, your business, and your experience to help you stand out from your competitors. Contact media to inform them of your opinion. The more you can exert your expertise, the more you’ll be seen as an authority in your field.
Plan a publicity stunt
Host a publicity stunt or event to gain media attention. Ensure that your event relates clearly to your brand’s message – this means considering the theme, location, time and date carefully. Invite relevant media and influencers who can generate coverage.
Turn to influencers
Use Instagrammers, Youtubers, and bloggers to promote your brand. Contact influencers who share your brand’s values and ask them to post on their channels in exchange for your service and/or product. By building and maintaining this relationship, influencers will continue to recommend your product and drive traffic to your website.
Utilise social media
Social media advertising is effective for targeting specific audiences. Identify which social media platform/s your target market uses and put together a strategy accordingly. Social media ads can be a cost effective way to connect with the right demographic.
